PROJECT HISTORY

Indiana completed a Draft Environmental Impact Statement in 2004, but with no funding source, the project stalled with no Record of Decision. Kentucky also conducted a Feasibility Study in 2014. Since 2004, Indiana and Kentucky have improved more than 260 miles of roadway to interstate standards.

In 2016, Governors Bevin and Pence signed a Memorandum of Agreement, committing funding to advance project development. The states reinitiated the study of the corridor to complete a required federal environmental review.

The I-69 ORX Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was published December 14, 2018.

The I-69 ORX Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) was published September 17, 2021.
