Several traffic restrictions are scheduled this week to accommodate work on Section 1 of the Ohio River Crossing. Here’s what drivers can expect:

Beginning on or after Tuesday, April 9

  • US 41 North, one lane closed near Adams Lane overpass
    • The lane closure will be in place for several weeks to work on a sound wall.

Tuesday, April 9 – Saturday, April 13

  • KY 351/2nd Street East reduced to one lane, as needed.
    • Two lanes will be open between 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. to accommodate school drop-off and pick-up.
  • KY 351/2nd Street short-term closures in front of North Middle School to the US 41 southbound ramps, as needed, with flaggers in place.
    • Short-term closures will happen outside of school drop-off and pick-up times.
  • KY 2084 North, continued closure with detour in place

Beginning on or after Wednesday, April 10

  • US 41 North to Audubon East ramp, lane width restriction
    • The restriction will be continuing for several weeks to work on a sound wall.

Thursday, April 11 – Saturday, April 13

  • US 41 reduced to one lane in each direction north of Kimsey Lane (barrier wall removal)

Friday, April 12

  • US 41 North near CSX, right-lane closed

Restrictions are not planned during the total solar eclipse today (Monday, April 8). Both KY 351/Second Street and US 41 will be open to two lanes of traffic in each direction to assist with the anticipated heavy traffic flow.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down, stay alert and watch for new traffic patterns. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
