ORX Section 2

I-69 ORX is divided into two sections for project delivery.

I-69 ORX Section 2 is a bi-state project between Indiana and Kentucky.

I-69 ORX Section 2 will connect I-69 in Evansville, IN with I-69 in Henderson, KY and includes the new 4-lane river crossing. The estimated cost is $975 million (year of expenditure).

ORX Section 2 FAQs

Has funding been identified for I-69 ORX Section 2?
I-69 ORX Section 2 will be supported by toll revenue supplemented by traditional federal and state dollars. A financial plan will be developed in 2021 and updated annually until construction is complete.

When will construction of I-69 ORX Section 2 begin?
Pre-construction activities are expected to begin in 2025 and construction is expected to begin in 2027. Completing this project is a high priority for both states and they continue to look for opportunities to accelerate its completion.

What will pre-construction activities include? 
Pre-construction activities include design, right-of-way and utility coordination.

How long will construction of I-69 Section 2 take? 
Construction is expected to take about four years to complete.
