Section 3: Indiana
Work on Section 3 will be complete in late 2026.
Section 3 includes part of the approach roadways and bridges in Indiana.
Work includes all-weather construction access to the river to build the future I-69 bridge (Section 2).
Improvements include:
- Approach roadways
- Three approach bridges
- Widening of embankment along I-69
- Southbound lanes for approach bridges under construction
- Northbound lanes to be constructed as part of Section 2
Approach roads and bridges being built now for construction access will open to traffic after the new I-69 bridge is complete.
INDOT awarded a $202 million contract to ORX Constructors, a joint venture that includes Walsh Construction and Traylor Bros, Inc. in late 2023. Construction started in fall 2024. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2026.
