Long-term lane closure scheduled on US 41
Several traffic changes are scheduled the next two weeks to accommodate work on Section 1 of the Ohio River Crossing. Here’s what drivers can expect:
Long-Term Lane Closure on US 41 near Audubon Parkway
Beginning Monday, March 4
- One lane of US 41 North will be closed from KY 425 to just north of Audubon Parkway.
- The closure is needed to accommodate bridge rehabilitation work on the Audubon Parkway bridges over US 41.
- Crews will also be building sound walls and working on the Audubon Parkway ramps.
- The closures are expected to be in place up to four months.
Lane Shifts on Audubon Parkway East
Beginning Monday, March 11
- Lane shifts are expected on the Audubon Parkway East at the bridge over US 41.
- Lane widths will be reduced with oversized loads restricted from using the ramp from US 41 South to Audubon Parkway East.
- The lane shifts are needed to accommodate bridge rehabilitation work on the Audubon Parkway East bridge over US 41.
- The lane shifts and restrictions are expected to be in place for about three months.
Lane Closures with Flaggers on KY 351/2nd Street
Wednesday, March 6 – Friday, March 8
- Lane closures and lane shifts are expected in both directions of KY 351/2nd Street near the US 41 overpass between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- KY 351/2nd Street will be reduced to one lane with flaggers controlling traffic.
- Delays are expected, and patience from drivers is appreciated.
- The closures are needed to accommodate demolishing a retaining wall in the area.
Lane Closures with Flaggers on KY 351/2nd Street
Monday, March 11 and Tuesday, March 12
- Lane closures and lane shifts are expected in both directions of KY 351/2nd Street near the US 41 overpass starting around 8 a.m.
- KY 351/2nd Street will be reduced to one lane with flaggers controlling traffic.
- A lane closure is also scheduled on US 41 South at the KY 351 interchange beginning around 9 a.m. US 41 South will be reduced to one lane.
- Delays are expected, and patience from drivers is appreciated.
- The closures are needed to set large concrete beams on the new US 41 South bridge.
- The work is expected to be complete by late afternoon.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, stay alert and watch for new traffic patterns.
Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
